Steve Bruere is the president of Peoples Company, a leading Iowa-based land brokerage with a diversified offering of land management, land appraisal and land investing services in 21 states across the country. Under Bruere’s leadership, Peoples Company, a 30-year-old real estate company, quickly became one of the country’s fastest-growing land brokerage and land management firms.

Bruere’s work has been recognized with several honors, like the highly competitive National Auctioneers Association 2018 “Auction Marketing Campaign of the Year,” which is presented in conjunction with USA TODAY.  The award recognized Peoples Company’s innovative approach to marketing a 6,000 contiguous acre m/l land auction in the Walla Walla Valley of Washington. Steve was also recognized with the REALTORS® Land Institute 2017 Top Twenty Producer APEX Award, which is given in partnership with The Land Report.

In 2008, Steve spearheaded the launch of Peoples Company’s Land Investment Expo, which has grown into one of the industry’s premier annual gatherings. The conference, which attracts over 900 attendees, has featured many high-profile speakers such as businessman T. Boone Pickens, ABC Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, and United States President Donald J. Trump.

Steve stays active with speaking engagements across the country and is a sought-after voice from national trade and media publications seeking insight on the agricultural economy. He serves on many industry boards, including the Iowa Chapter of The Nature Conservancy Board of Trustees, the UNI Real Estate Program Advisory Council, and chairing Iowa’s Soil and Water Future Task Force.

Bruere is the past president of the Iowa Chapter of the REALTORS® Land Institute, which also named him Farm and Land Broker of the Year in 2013. He is the leader in terms of number of acres sold for the Iowa REALTORS® Land Institute.
